Andalusian Baked Eggplant (pictured) and Vasco De Gama will be the two featured entrees at this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe†dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the Gilbert restaurant’s regular menu.
Sept. 4 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu
- Venetian Roasted Peppers: Roasted red peppers, green chillies with garlic, EVOO, balsamic vinegar, herbs and spices. Served with an Italian roll.
- Hellenic Salad: Gyros, feta cheese and yogurt over mushrooms, green pepper, onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, romaine.
- Andalusian Baked Eggplant: Fennel sausage, roasted red peppers, pine nuts, spinach, red onions, scallions and fresh garlic. Sauteed in olive oil, baked over eggplant with feta cheese.
- Vasco De Gama: SauteÌed chicken and gulf shrimp with carrots, mushrooms, green onions, sun-dried tomatoes and whole black peppercorns in a creamy curry, mustard seed sauce with bow tie pasta and pistachios.
- Fantasy Cake: Layers of cheesecake, chocolate mousse and Devil’s Food cake finished with dark chocolate and ground pistachios.
