A pair of fundraisers involving Famous Dave’s BBQ raised $18,000 Wednesday for the families of Chandler police officers David Payne and Bryant Holmes, who were killed in traffic accidents.
A lunchtime gveaway of pulled pork sandwiches in front of the Chandler Police Department generated $8,500 in donations.
Wednesday evening, officers waiting tables at the Famous Dave’s at SanTan Village in Gilbert received $9,500 in tips.
“This is just one small gesture we can do to show their families we love and care for the sacrifices that were made,” franchise owner John Erlandson says.
