Huge news from Fate Brewing: The small Scottsdale brewpub, which will celebrate its second anniversary Saturday, is opening a second, larger location.
The new spot, about eight miles south of the original, will be in the Papago Plaza on the southwest corner of Scottsdale and McDowell (pictured: artist’s rendering).
The 10,000-square-foot space will include a beer garden, an outdoor pavilion, an 800-square-foot barrel cellar, and a large enough kitchen to expand the menu.
The new site, which owner Steve McFate hopes to open by late spring, will produce Fate’s best-selling beers, allowing the original location, now dubbed Fate North, to focus on unique, small-batch beers.
In the meantime, Fate will open its doors at 11 a.m. Saturday for its anniversary party with 12 of its specialty beers, plus some special collaborations, on tap.
