Passers-by might do a double take at the “Now Open – Phuket Thai” signs on the southwest corner of Arizona and Ocotillo in south Chandler. But it’s not someone’s idea of a joke.
Phuket really is a place in Thailand, an island province well-known to tourists and retirees. And just for the record: It’s pronounced “poo-kay.”
Although the just-opened restaurant’s interior is fairly small, the dinner menu is huge – 84 dishes, ranging from noodles to curries to roasted duck, not counting desserts. Most are $10-$12.
All dishes are available in four levels of spiciness from mild to Thai hot.
A separate lunch menu offer 39 dishes, all under $10, which includes rice, salad, and an egg roll.
Phuket Thai is open daily from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for lunch and 5-9 p.m. for dinner.
