Channel 8′s popular restaurant-review show “Check, Please! Arizona†will be taping for an upcoming episode at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert. For reservations, please call 480-962-4224.
The 30-minute show features three restaurants each week. Segments start with a profile of each restaurant, followed by the reviews of three ordinary people (non-professional critics).
In other news, Chicken Omega and Spicy Putanesca will be the featured entrees for this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe†dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
The five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the restaurant’s regular menu.
Dec. 4 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Eggplant Cappicola:Â Provolone and ham cappicola wrapped in fresh eggplant and deep-fried.
- Mediterranean Salad:Â Hearts of artichoke and palm with roasted pepper, tomatoes, cucumber, scallion, avocado, romaine, lemon vinaigrette, and almonds.
- Chicken Omega:Â Strips of grilled chicken, spinach, pine nuts, garlic, and feta in rich white wine cream.
- Spicy Putanesca: Grilled chicken breast and Italian sausage with sautéed black peppercorns, capers, pine nuts, kalamatas, and scallions in a tomato-anchovy sauce.
- Chocolate Dipped Florentines
