The grand opening is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 17, on the southeast corner of Lindsay and Warner – directly across the street from neighborhood fave Brooklyn V’s Pizza.
Family-run Sanfratello’s opened 45 years ago on Chicago’s South Side, where it is best-known for its thin-crust, square-cut pizzas. It also offers pan pizzas, along with sandwiches, pasta, and ribs.
Chicago native Scott Dunnett, a Sanfratello’s fan who moved to Arizona in 2012, convinced the family to let him open a location in Arizona.
The Gilbert Sanfratello’s will focus on takeout and delivery within a 5-mile radius. Dunnett is looking for a second location for a sit-down Sanfratello’s.
