Thursday’s ‘Taste of Romeo’s’ menu: Penne Carbonara & Paella Barcelona

Penne Carbonara and Paella Barcelona will be the two featured entrees at this week’s “Taste of Romeo’s Euro Cafe” dinner at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

The five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, highlight a rotating selection from the Gilbert restaurant’s regular menu.

Jan. 15 “Taste of Romeo’s” menu

  • Vegeta Skins: Grilled hearts of palm, artichokes, onions, peppers, mushrooms, zucchini, Italian dressing, and provolone.
  • Roasted Eggplant Salad: With red peppers, kalamata olives, green chilies, carrots, garbanzo, balsamic vinegar and olive oil, and Romano-parmesan.
  • Penne Carbonara: Ham and bacon sauteed with red and green bell peppers in creamy cheese sauce with penne pasta.
  • Paella Barcelona: Shrimp, chicken, clams, Italian sausage, hearts of artichoke and palm, spinach, red bell peppers, onions, roasted whole garlic, tomatoes, and brown rice.
  • Cherry Cordial Tart: Amarena cherries, dark chocolate granache, sweet pastry tart shell.

Cost is $27 per person, and you can add five wine tastings for another $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
