The East Valley can never have enough pie shops, so I was happy when MXSW reader Tom Yost tipped me off Pies-N-More has opened on the southwest corner of Power and Baseline in east Mesa.

The ’50s-themed shop offers five kinds of fruit pies (apple, cherry, blueberry, peach, and berry berry) for $2.25 per slice or $10.95 per whole pie.

Creamy and silky pies come in six varieties (pecan, pumpkin, lemon meringue, chocolate cream, coconut cream, and banana cream) for $2.50 or $11.95.

For a savory alternative, chicken pot pies are $4.95.

The “More” part of the shop’s name comes from a small menu of sandwiches ($5.95), salads ($5.95-$6.95), soups ($4.25), and even quiches ($3.95 slice, $14.95 whole).

Pies-N-More is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday-Saturday.
