Chick-fil-A in Gilbert raising funds tonight for 8-year-old boy with cerebral palsy

By Jess Harter Tuesday, February 3, 2015

Chick-fil-A at SanTan Village in Gilbert is raising money this month for the family of Andrew Burkhart, an 8-year-old Gilbert boy with cerebral palsy.

(Channel 15 covered his story last April. Click the video above to watch.)

Burkhart was born with the disorder, but has responded well to treatments over the past four years. Those treatments, though, cost the family around $750 per month in out-of-pocket expenses not covered by insurance.

Burkhart’s father, a full-time teacher at Hamilton High, also works part-time jobs at Bogle Junior High and Chandler-Gilbert Community College, but it’s not enough to cover the medical bills.

So, from 4-10 p.m. every Tuesday this month, the SanTan Chick-fil-A (in the Walmart parking lot – map) is donating 15% of total sales to the Burkharts.
