Surprising news over the weekend from Herb ’n’ Flavors, the three-year-old Tempe eatery from chef Sabeur Rouin, better known as Doctor Hummus:
We appreciate your time and support all these years. We have sold our restaurant to a different company. Even though we did fantastic (thanks to all of you), the offer was good for us and the new owner, so we couldn’t turn it down. I think for now we are taking a little break, but stay tuned (We will be back).
The Facebook post doesn’t mention who’s taking over the space on the southeast corner of McClintock and Broadway.
Herb ’n’ Flavors, which opened in October 2011, served pitas, wraps, paninis, and pizzas.
Rouin will continue to sell his line of hummuses at Valley stores and farmers markets.
