11 pie-inspired beers on tap at OHSO
We’ve just passed the midpoint of Arizona Beer Week, and there’s no slowdown in the number of great craft beer events. Today, OHSO kicks off its three-day Pie Social, 11 pie beer collaborations with 10 Arizona breweries and the Arizona Society of Homebrewers. On tap you’ll find pie-inspired ales brewed with Fate (Tart Cherry), Dubina (Banana Cream), 8-Bit (Cherpumple), That (Pecan), Historic (Big Ol’ Piehole), Borderlands (Pumpkin), Mother Bunch (Shepherd’s), Freak’N (Blueberry), SanTan (Pineapple Upside Down), and ASH (Key Lime). Flights up to four beers will be available, and you even can add a slice of pie. Only two kegs of each beer were brewed.

SanTan beers will be $4 with 100% of the beer sales (and a portion or ramen sales) going to support the Arizona Beer Bill (SB1030) at the state legislature.
Meet Caldera Brewing owner at The Perch
Few people know Caldera Brewing from Ashland, Ore., was the first craft brewery on the West Coast to can its beer. AT 5 p.m. today, you can meet owner Jim Mills at The Perch in Chandler. They’ll have five of his beers – Ashland Amber, Pale Ale, Pilot Rock Porter, Lawnmower Lager, and Caldera IPA – on tap, and will be giving away free swag.
Fate to release stout collab with Huss
If you missed last weekend’s Strong Beer Festival, you still have a chance to taste one of the event’s most talked-about ales: A super-thick, barrel-aged stout collaboration from Scottsdale’s Fate Brewing and Tempe’s Huss Brewing. Fate will host the beer’s official release party when it opens at 3 p.m.
