The San Diego-based chain opened its 15th restaurant – and first outside of California – on the northeast corner of Gilbert and Southern this morning.
The breakfast menu offers a dozen specialty omelets and a half-dozen types of eggs Benedict, as well as the usual pancakes, waffles, and French toast.
For big appetites, there’s steak and eggs, chicken and waffles, chicken-fried steak, and biscuits and gravy.
For really big appetites, Broken Yolk makes a dozen-egg omelet smothered in mushrooms, onion, cheese, and chili served in 15-inch pizza pan with home fries and two biscuits. Eat it all in an hour and it’s free.
Burgers, sandwiches, and salads are available for lunch.
The cafe also boasts a surprising number of Mexican dishes, ranging from chilaquiles to Tijuana street tacos.
The Broken Yolk Cafe is open 6 a.m.-3 p.m. seven days a week.
