The Florida-based chain is flying in kegs of the unfiltered and unpasteurized pilsner straight from the historic brewery in the Czech Republic.
The kegs, extremely rare in this country, will be tapped at World of Beer Tempe and Gilbert locations at 7 p.m. Thursday.
In addition, each location also will be tapping Weihenstephaner German Pilsner from the world’s oldest brewery, the Weihenstephan Monastery Brewery.
The tappings mark the start of WOB’s 28-day “Journey Through Pilsners” celebrating the beer style.
Customers will be able to buy Pilsner Urquell flights with three pour styles: Crème (three fingers of head), slice (75% foam), and sweet (all foam).
A second flight will feature four different pilsners: Czech, German, American, and a bartender’s choice.
