The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
This week’s dinner will be complemented by higher-end wines, so the price will be $75 per person (plus tax and tip) instead of the usual $37.
April 9 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Foccacia De La Provincia: Open-faced foccacia bread with fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, garlic, EVOO, and thinly sliced portabello mushrooms.
- Ravioli Salad: Deep-fried cheese-filled ravioli mixed with Romano-parmesan, black olives, bell peppers, tomatoes, Genoa salami, hearts of palm, peas, and red onions, tossed in mustard vinaigrette dressing.
- Salonika Chicken: Italian sausage, mushrooms, pepperoncinis, garlic, capers, and pine nuts over breast of chicken in orange brandy and white wine.
- Tortellini Gianni: Italian sausage, cheese-filled tortellini, scallions, fresh garlic, mushrooms, and sun-dried tomatoes in marsala cream sauce.
- Dangerous Dilemma: Fudgy dark chocolate cake with a white chocolate cream layer finished with a raspberry liqueur sauce.
