Crust pizzeria’s two-year quest to open in downtown Chandler finally appears to be nearing completion.

If you recall, the Scottsdale-based small chain originally was scheduled to move into the former Kokopelli Winery space in 2013.

That deal went awry, and the Original ChopShop Co. took over the building.

Then, last September came the news Crust would be moving into the historic San Marcos Resort, just north of SanTan Brewing.

In the last seven months, though, all has been quiet.

Finally, things seem to be moving. Crust got city council approval of its liquor license application two weeks ago, and now there’s signage in front of the resort.

An early-summer opening is planned.
