With Barrio Queen finally open in downtown Gilbert, we can turn our attention to the next restaurant scheduled to open at the new Heritage Marketplace – Pomo Pizzeria.
The acclaimed wood-fired pizza kitchen, which already has locations in north Scottsdale and downtown Phoenix, originally was scheduled to open last fall.
During the delay, Pomo opened a third location – this one in Glendale – last month.
The new estimate for the opening of the Gilbert location is the end of June.
• Angry Crab Shack, which launched in Mesa in late 2013, is growing quickly. The seafood joint opened a second location in Phoenix in October 2014.
Now it’s opening two in the West Valley and another in the former Tijuana Country Club space at 38th Street and Ray in Ahwatukee this summer.
• Utah-based Fat Cats is renovating the former Bashas’ on the southwest corner of Greenfield and Baseline in Gilbert for a late summer opening.
The massive family-fun center will have a restaurant, a recline-and-dine theater, a bowling alley, glow golf, and an arcade.
• A new wine bar called Wild Vine Uncovered is coming to the northwest corner of Gilbert and Chandler Heights in Chandler.
It’s taking over the space that formerly held Bourbon Street Bar & BBQ and, before that, Tom’s BBQ.
