Chandler Food Trucks weekly roundup finds new site, will return this Friday

The roundup’s new home is the Shoppers Supply parking lot on the northwest corner of Alma School and Queen Creek (map).

Inspired by the weekly Gilbert Food Truck Food Court, south Chandler residents launched their own food truck roundup April 17 at Downtown Ocotillo.

In just four weeks, however, the event outgrew the site, forcing its temporary suspension while organizer Brian Denham searched for a larger venue.

Enter Shoppers Supply, which agreed to host 10-15 trucks from 6-9 p.m. Fridays. Diners can use tables in the store’s entrance, use the restrooms, and, of course, shop.

“Shoppers Supply is excited to partner with Chandler Food Trucks to bring the community together for some fun Friday nights in Chandler,” says director of purchasing C.J. O’Brion.

This Friday’s grand re-opening will include live music. The public is encouraged to bring tables, chairs, and games.

The lineup of trucks will be posted Wednesday on Chandler Food Trucks’ Facebook page.

While thanking Downtown Ocotillo developer Spike Owen for helping to get the event off the ground, Denham is happy the three-week hiatus is over.

“Food truckers have wanted to come to Chandler for quite some time,” Denham says. “This event gives them a steady place to park every Friday night.”
