In what undoubtedly will be the busiest night in its four-and-a-half-year history, the Apache Trail pub and grill (map) hosts a 6 p.m. tap takeover with six Founders beers:
- Canadian Breakfast Stout
- Kentucky Breakfast Stout
- Curmudgeon
- Centennial IPA
- Red’s Rye IPA
- Rubaeus
The highlight, of course, is CBS, considered one of the best, and rarest, beers in the world. The Michigan brewery last made the stout, aged in maple syrup barrels, in 2011.
The Handlebar is offering two options tonight:
- Dinner & CBS pairing ($24): Brisket burger stuffed with blue cheese and topped with bacon and paired with a 10-ounce pour of CBS.
- Founders Flight Special ($15): A smaller pour of each of the six beers.
Founders shipped just six quarter kegs (aka “pony” kegs)Â of CBS to Arizona. The only other East Valley tapping will be June 17 at Boulders on Broadway in Tempe.
