The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, typically highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.

This week, however, a new dish will make its debut: Spicy Euro Baba Ganoush with Feta (pictured).

June 18 “Taste of Romeo’s” menu:

  • Spicy Euro Baba Ganoush with Feta: Roasted eggplant, ajvar, garlic, cumin, paprika, and allspice, served warm with fresh parsley, jalapenos, and feta cheese.
  • Teriyaki Chicken Salad: Sauyeed chicken, black beans, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, avocado, feta, and lemon over romaine.
  • Transylvania Chicken: Grilled chicken breast layered with roasted eggplant, peppers, garlic, pine nuts, and black peppercorns with chilled balsamic beans and tomato-feta foccacia.
  • Vasco De Gama: Sautéed chicken and gulf shrimp with carrots, mushrooms, green onions, and sun-dried tomatoes in a curry-mustard sauce with bow tie pasta and pistachios.
  • German’s Chocolate Brownies: Brownies with chocolate and pecans, topped with coconut.

Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $27 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP: 480-962-4224.
