The Valley’s newest brewery, which renamed itself this week after having trademark issues with its original moniker, is located on 24th Street about halfway between McDowell and Thomas (map).
It’s a three-building complex – a 1922 house-turned-taproom, a brewhouse, and a refrigerated storage building – that formerly were among seven buildings that housed artisan bakery Simply Bread.

Drew Pool, co-founder along with Bill Hammond, says Wren House will have only head brewer Preston Thoeny’s beers (no guest beers) on its 12 taps when doors open at 5 p.m. Friday.
Those will include a dry-hopped IPA, a porter, a coffee oatmeal stout, and a ginger pale ale. They’ll also tap a dry- and wet-hopped IPA firkin on Friday, and a roasted hazelnut coffee stout firkin on Saturday.
Wren House doesn’t have a kitchen, but neighbor Tortas Paquime will have food available Friday, and there will be food trucks over the weekend.
Wren House will be open 5-9 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, although those hours will be adjusted as needed.
