Yes, it’s yet another made-up “food holiday” intended simply to help restaurants boost business.
Unlike, say, the recent National Doughnut Day, which traces its roots back to 1938, International Sushi Day only has been around since 2009.
Still, RA Sushi is using the occasion to run a bunch of specials today:
- $4 Spicy Tuna or Spicy Salmon Hand Rolls
- $5.25 Tootsy Maki or California Rolls
- $6 RA Chips and Salsa (pictured) or Shrimp Tempura Rolls
- $7 Lobster Nigiri
- $5 Kirin/Kirin Light or premium mixed drinks
- $6 Sake Sangria, Baby Umami Punch or Blushing Geisha cocktails
- $6 Fire Bomb
- $14 Umami Punch Bowl (meant for two)
The specials are good at all five Valley locations, including Mesa, Tempe and Ahwatukee.
