The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, typically highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
June 24 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Spicy Euro Baba Ganoush with Feta: Roasted eggplant, ajvar, garlic, cumin, paprika, and allspice, served warm with fresh parsley, jalapenos, and feta cheese.
- Antipasto Salad: Genoa salami, ham cappicola, pepperoni, Swiss and provolone cheeses, and vegetables with Italian dressing.
- Kasseri Chicken: Sauteed chicken breast, pepperoncinis, kalamatas, roasted garlic, kasseri cheese, black peppercorns, and roasted red peppers in a marsala cream sauce.
- Risi Bisi con Milanesa (pictured): Brown rice, black beans, peppadew peppers, hominy, onions, and peas cooked in chicken broth, lightly breaded pan-fried pork cutlets, parsley-cilantro salad, lemon wedges.
- Triple Chocolate Brownie Cookie
