The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, typically highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
July 9 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Feta Dill Fritters: A blend of gyro meat, feta cheese, fresh dill, spinach, and pine nuts.
- Corinthian Salad: Grilled chicken breast, hearts of palm, artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, mushrooms, capers, and feta cheese tossed in Italian dressing over romaine.
- Chicken Plaka: Chicken sautéed with artichoke hearts, mushrooms, and onions in a lemony cream sauce.
- Paella Barcelona (pictured): Shrimp, chicken, clams, Italian sausage, hearts of artichoke and palm, spinach, red bell peppers, onions, roasted whole garlic, tomatoes, and brown rice.
- Tiramisu: European lady fingers soaked in espresso and layered with fresh mascarpone cheese.
Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $27 per person plus tax and tip. Add five wine tastes for $10. RSVP:Â 480-962-4224.
