The weekly five-course dinners, hosted by chef Romeo Taus and his wife, Janice, in a private dining room, typically highlight a rotating selection from the regular menu at Romeo’s Euro Cafe in Gilbert.
July 23 “Taste of Romeo’s†menu:
- Venetian Roasted Peppers: Roasted red peppers, green chiles with garlic, EVOO, balsamic vinegar, herbs and spices. Served with an Italian roll.
- Ravioli Salad: Deep-fried, cheese-filled ravioli, mixed with Genoa salami and vegetables, tossed in mustard vinaigrette.
- Pasta Rustica: Mild Italian sausage and shrimp with zucchini, mushrooms, and sweet red peppers in basil-pesto cream with ziti.
- Sunflower Beef (pictured): Steak strips, green onions, red peppers, Portobello mushrooms, sunflower seeds, and capers in teriyaki sauce over brown rice.
- Satin Bondage: Layers of toasted almond sponge cake soaked in Amaretto with coconut, white chocolate, cream cheese icing, and Malibu rum.
