JC’s Steakhouse’s monthly tasting Wednesday to feature southern Italy

JC’s Steakhouse in Gilbert will hold its monthly wine tasting at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

This month’s focus will be on wines from southern Italy. The wine-and-food pairings:

• Falesco Est! Est! Est! paired with tonno cunzato (dressed tuna), stuffed zucchini from Basilicata, and watermelon bruschetta.
• Matane Primitivo paired with zuppa di pan cotto (bread soup).
• Mandarosso Nero D’Avda paired with peperoni in padella (peppers in a pan), orecchiette con cime di rappa (ear-shaped pasta with broccoli rabe) and miscateddri (pork calzone).
• Mastobaradino Greco paired with spumoni and tiramasu.
