Dr. Jekyll’s, one of the country’s “truly odd” breweries has entered the Arizona market with its line of organic ales made with so-called “super food” ingredients.
The Los Angeles-based contract brewer – whose motto is “Truly odd, but oddly delicious – currently sells three vegan, non-GMO beers:
- Bio Beer: A session IPA brewed with organic hops and super-food ingredients including acai berry, acerola berry, turmeric, maitake mushroom, garlic, green tea, and ginger oil.
- Beer Attack: An Irish-style Red brewed with two organic hops, six organic malts, maqui berry, hawthorn berry, cinnamon oil, flaxseed oil, algal oil, and garlic.
- Beer Belly: An American Kölsch brewed with acai, maqui berry, raspberry ketone, grapefruit fiber, green tea, and green coffee bean.
Lest you think these beers are just gimmicks, Beer Belly won a gold medal in the fruit beer category and Bio Beer took the silver in specialty ales at the respected Los Angeles International Beer Competition.
