Knee Deep Brewing celebrates return to AZ at The Brass Tap in Mesa tonight

Knee Deep, a five-year-old brewery from northern California, is celebrating its return to the Arizona market with a promotion from 4-8 p.m. tonight at The Brass Tap at Mesa Riverview.

Although fairly young, Knee Deep is no stranger to headlines. It began in Lake Tahoe, moved to Lincoln (near Sacramento) in 2011, then to a larger facility in nearby Auburn in 2014.

Along the way, it picked up numerous awards, most of them for its Hoptologist double IPA and Simtra triple IPA.

The growing demand for its hoppy, West Coast-style beers forced Knee Deep to pull out of the Arizona market, but its new facility allowed it to return as well as enter several other states.

Last month, in the latest twist to Knee Deep’s saga, brewmaster and co-founder Jeremy Warren (pictured above) surprisingly left the brewery, reportedly to start a new one.

Tonight, The Brass Tap will have at least five Knee Deep beers on tap:

  • Hoptologist double IPA
  • Citra Extra Pale Ale
  • Tanilla Porter
  • Lupulin River imperial pale ale
  • Breaking Bud imperial pale ale

Don’t be surprised if there are a couple of unannounced beers as well.
