- The sixth annual Arizona Taco Festival, the world’s largest taco competition, will take place 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale.
- General admission is $12 online or $15 at the gate. Kids 12 and under get in free.
- Forty-plus restaurants and food trucks will be selling tacos for $2 apiece. Other food (mostly desserts) also will be for sale, as will margaritas, beer, water, and soda.
- All food and drink purchases will require $2 tokens, which can be purchased with cash or credit cards. There will be ATMs on site.
- More than 100 tequilas will be available at the Tequila Expo from noon-5 p.m. Saturday only. The tent requires an additional $20 ticket (good for 10 samples).
- There will be competitions for taco-eating, chile pepper-eating, flair bartending, and a chihuahua beauty pageant.
- Other attractions will include lucha libre wrestling, a live music stage, cooking demos (Sunday only), photo booths, and chef hat decorating.
- Free parking is included in the ticket price.
- VIP tickets (which include 10 tacos, five alcoholic beverages, one soda/water, VIP tent access, and private restrooms) are $85 online or $100 at the door.
