Oregano’s Pizza Bistro has opened its 13th Valley restaurant (and 16th in Arizona) on the southeast corner of the Ellsworth Loop and Maya roads in Queen Creek.
Oregano’s offers thin-crust and deep-dish Chicago-style pizzas, pasta, and sandwiches. Daily lunch specials include the oversized Heck of a Slice and the all-you-can-eat Bollo Pasta.
The high-energy pizzerias – or, as Oregano’s calls them, ‘‘neighborhood joints’’ – sport a 1950s- and ’60s-inspired decor, and servers wear shirts with tongue-in-cheek puns or slogans.
Not surprisingly, Oregano’s huge popularity is sometimes problematic, and its restaurant openings often produce long lines.
Queen Creek diners already are complaining on social media about hour-long waits earlier this week.
Oreganos is open 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday and Satuday.
