Goose Island’s Migration Week, a touring series of promos for the Chicago brewery, arrives in the Valley this week and includes four events in the East Valley. (See the full list of Migration Week events around the Valley here.)
Tonight at The Brass Tap
Tonight at The Brass Tap at Mesa Riverview, a local rep for Anheuser-Busch InBev (which bought Goose Island in 2011) will hold an hour-long beer class at 6 p.m. with $8 for flights of 312 Urban Pale Ale, 312 Urban Wheat Ale, Goose IPA, and Sofie (Belgian-style farmhouse ale).
At 7 p.m., there will be Team Trivia, with the A-B InBev rep giving away prizes for correct answers to questions about Goose Island.
Other Goose Island beers being tapped at 7: Honkers (English-style bitter), Autumn Ale (red ale), 2013 and 2014 Bourbon County Stout (barrel-aged imperial), and 2014 Bourbon County Coffee Stout.
Wednesday at The Hungry Monk
Wednesday at The Hungry Monk in Chandler, beer chef Gidi Goldberg will offer five one-night-only specialty dishes inspired by Goose Island beers. See the menu here.
The Monk will have seven GI beers on tap: 312, Goose IPA, Autumn Ale, Sofie, Matilda (Belgian-style pale), 2013 Halia (Belgian-style farmhouse), and 2014 Bourbon County Vanilla Rye (6:27 p.m. tapping).
In addition, there will be bottle pours of 2013 Lolita (Belgian-style wild ale), 2014 Madame Rose (Belgian-style brown), and 2015 Lolita, Halia, and Gillian (Belgian-style farmhouse).
Wednesday at Fox Cigar Bar
At 8 p.m. Wednesday at Fox Cigar Bar in Gilbert, Goose Island will premiere its first feature-length film, “Grit & Grain,” detailing the history of the world’s first bourbon-barrel-aged beer, Bourbon County Stout.
BC Vanilla Rye will be on tap for sampling and pairing with cigars. A list of other beers was not available.
Thursday at Boulders on Broadway
Goose Island wraps up its 2015 Migration Week in the Valley with a farewell party from 7-10 p.m. Thursday at Boulders on Broadway in Tempe.
Available on tap: 312 Wheat, Goose IPA, Sofie, Matilda, 10 Hills Pale Ale, Ogden (Belgian tripel), Autumn Ale, Oktoberfest, 2014 BCS, and 2014 Proprietors’ BCS.
