Barro’s Pizza has returned to Queen Creek. The local chain’s 37th location opened today in the Queen Creek Marketplace at Ellsworth and Rittenhouse.

Family-owned Barro’s opened its first location in Queen Creek in 2004, but moved it about three miles to southeast Gilbert in 2014.

“When we made the decision to move our Queen Creek location to Gilbert, we knew there would still be a need for Barro’s Pizza further east,’’ Bruce Barro says. ‘‘After a few months of searching, we found a great location at the Queen Creek Marketplace.’’

Hours are 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-11 p.m. Friday-Saturday, and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

Queen Creek recently has been a popular destination for new pizzerias.

In October, The Manhattan Vine opened on the southeast corner of Ellsworth and Ocotillo roads.

That same month, Oregano’s Pizza Bistro opened on the southeast corner of the Ellsworth Loop and Maya Road.
