Café Lalibela in Tempe to open market next to restaurant Friday

Café Lalibela, the critically acclaimed Ethiopian eatery in Tempe, will open Lalibela Market on Friday.

The 400-square-foot market, located next door to the cafe, will sell Ethiopian spices, teas, jewelry, crafts, and grab-and-go beverages.

The grand-opening weekend will include:

• Giveaways like free small samples of spices to the first 50 guests
• Buy-one-get-one grab-and-go items from the Lalibela line
• All-day tasting samples served up Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Market hours will be 10 a.m.-9 p.m. weekdays, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. Saturday, and noon-9 p.m. Sunday.

Café Lalibela and Lalibela Market are located on the southeast corner of Hardy and University.
