Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers’ new sibling, Crab & Mermaid, sets opening date: March 19

Square One Concepts – perhaps best known for its popular Cold Beer & Cheeseburgers restaurants – will debut a new concept next month in Old Town Scottsdale.

Crab & Mermaid Fish Shop will open Saturday, March 19, on the west side of Scottsdale Road, between Third and Fifth avenues. The site previously was home to My Big Fat Greek Restaurant and Tony Roma’s.

Described as ‘‘a casual seafood dining experience,’’ Crab & Mermaid (artist’s rendering shown above) will have a 3,000-square-foot seashore-themed interior and a 940-square-foot patio with a full bar.

Chef Isaac Carter, who spent 12 years with Boston-based celebrity chef Todd English’s restaurants, will offer clam chowder, lobster rolls, crab cakes, po’ boys, shrimp boils, fresh fish, Baja-style tacos, and a raw bar.

Crab & Mermaid will be open for lunch and dinner daily.
