Bobby Q’s Great Steaks and BBQ was just named one of the Top 100 Places to eat in the U.S. for 2016 by Yelp, and East Valley residents soon won’t have to journey to west Phoenix to enjoy its food.

Bobby Q’s announced last month it was planning to open another location in Mesa, but so far has refused to reveal where and when.

But MXSW has learned that location will open in the recently closed R.T. O’Sullivan’s Sports Grill building on the southwest corner of Stapley and U.S. 60, across the street from the AMC theaters.

Bobby Q’s slow-cooks its dry-rubbed ribs, brisket, and sausage links with Tennessee hickory. Steaks ($20-$35) are aged in-house and hand-cut daily. Chicken ($14-$15) is available Southern fried, rotisserie grilled, or smoke-roasted.

The restaurant’s honors also include being named one of 30 Best Barbecue Restaurants in America by OpenTable in 2014. It has averaged 4.5 stars in 1,200-plus Yelp reviews.

The “Bobby” in Bobby Q’s is owner Bob Sikora, a Phoenix native who also launched the Bobby McGee’s chain, Mr. Lucky’s, and Mabel Murphy’s.
