Oregano’s Pizza Bistro, which opened its 16th Arizona restaurant in Queen Creek in October, is setting its sights on east Mesa this year.
The local chain is taking over the former Old Chicago Pizza that closed last June on the southeast corner of Superstition Springs and Power.
It will give Oregano’s seven locations in the East Valley, including north Tempe, south Tempe, Chandler, Gilbert, and west Mesa.
Oregano’s also plans to open a West Valley location in Surprise this year. Unlike the east Mesa renovation, it’ll be built from the ground up.
No opening dates have been announced, but I’d guess summer for east Mesa and late fall for Surprise.
