Wednesday: Spanish wine dinner at JC’s Steakhouse in Gilbert

JC’s Steakhouse in Gilbert will hold its monthly wine tasting at 7 p.m. Wednesday. This month’s focus will be on Spanish wines.

The food-and-wine pairings:

• Gambas al ajillo (Spanish-style shrimp), patatas bravas a la javi (fried potatoes with mayo and salsa), and pincho de dátil con jamon y queso (cheese-stuffed dates wrapped in ham), paired with Poema Brut Rose Cava.
• Gazpacho, paired with Paco and Lola ‘‘Paco Red Experience’’ Garnacha.
• Paella, tortilla española (Spanish omelet), and empanada ballega (pork-and-pepper pie), paired with Paco and Lola Lolo Albarino.
• Crema catalana, paired with Marquez de Vargas ‘‘Vargas V’’ Riojo.
