Four Peaks Brewing in Tempe celebrates its 19th anniversary with the Kilt Chaser 5K run and a BBQ, beer, and music festival from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at its Wilson Street production brewery.

The race, a successor to the brewery’s Skirt Chaser run, starts at 10 a.m. Female runners get a 3-minute headstart, then are “chased down” (all in fun, of course) by the male runners.

BBQ Island will be holding a National BBQ Cook Off qualifying event in the north parking lot, and you can purchase smoked meat samples from competing teams.

The Tempe Diablos will be grilling hamburgers, Kilt Lifter brats, and veggie burgers for sale, and the Maine Lobster Lady food truck will be on-site.

Besides Four Peaks’ “core” beers on sale, a “Muscle Beach” area will feature its small-batch, single-tank, and specialty ales. An “Arizona Craft Brewers Guild Tap Zone” will have beers from 15 other Arizona breweries:

  • Huss Koffee Kolsch
  • That Strawberry Blonde
  • Phoenix Ale Orange Peel IPA
  • Dragoon Dragoon IPA
  • Borderlands Honey Kolsch
  • Papago Orange Blossom
  • Lumberyard High Water Double IPA
  • Mother Road Tower Station IPA
  • Pedal Haus Dortmunder
  • Wren House Saison
  • Fate Oatmeal IPA
  • Cartel Desert Pale Ale
  • 8 Bit Hopsassin’s Creed
  • Beast Treasure Fruit IPA
  • Wanderlust Belgian Dubbel
  • Wanderlust/Four Peaks Wandering Peaks

At 11 a.m., a seven-band lineup kicks off in the brewery’s parking lot:

  • Elvis Before Noon
  • The Jons
  • Black Bottom Lighters
  • Southwest Before Midnight
  • Walt Richardson
  • The Black Moods
  • Big Nick & the Gila Monsters

General admission is $5 (children 14 and under are free) with proceeds going to the Four Peaks Brewing Foundation, which supports Four Peaks for ‪Teachers‬ and local charities.

VIP tickets are $75, which includes six beer tickets, six BBQ tickets, hospitality tent access, private restrooms, and a four-pack of Sirius Black in bottles to bring home.

Entry in the Kilt Chaser run is $32, which includes admission to the festival afterward.
