Wednesday is the 17th annual Free BBQ Day at Joe’s Real BBQ in downtown Gilbert.
From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. and 4-7:30 p.m. (or until food runs out), you can get a pulled pork or a chicken breast sandwich, sides of BBQ pit beans and cole slaw, and a drink. Kid-size sandwiches will be available.
There’s a limit of one free meal per person, and it can’t be to-go. You also can’t request meals for others. No other menu items will be available Wednesday.
Attendees are asked to consider bringing some canned food or boxes of cereal to aid the nonprofit center Open Arms Care Center with feeding the homeless and less fortunate.
