Get a free pizza at 1000 Degrees, which opens today at SanTan Village in Gilbert

Hey, look! A fast-casual, build-your-own, cook-in-less-than-5-minutes pizza place is opening in the Valley.

The latest addition to this ever-crowded market niche is 1000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza, a chain based out of New Jersey, which opens today at SanTan Village in Gilbert.

To celebrate its opening, the pizzeria will give away 10-inch pizza to every customer all day today (or until supplies run out). No purchase is necessary.

The restaurant is located next to Chipotle and Charming Charlie’s (south across the street from the Apple Store and east across the street from Barnes & Noble).

Thanks to the chain’s namesake 1,000-degree ovens, it can cook a 10- or 14-inch pizza in just 2 minutes. You have a choice of more than 50 toppings.

The menu includes 15 pre-designed specialty pizzas, such as:

• Hawaiian Fire: With ham, pineapple, and a spicy Sriracha marinara.
• The Smokey Pollo: Roasted chicken, red onion, pineapple, mozzarella, blue cheese, and bourbon barbecue sauce.
• The Philly: Thinly sliced rib-eye, balsamic onions, and mozzarella.

1000 Degrees has signed franchise agreements to open locations in six Arizona cities. The Gilbert one was supposed to be the first, but there were delays and the first opened in north Scottsdale in February.
