The Yucca Tap Room in Tempe hosts a rare mini tap takeover with Cascade Brewing, a pioneer in Northwest-style sour beers, from 6-8 p.m. today.
The Portland brewery has sent draft beers to Arizona only once before – to a couple events during Arizona Beer Week in February.
Tonight, though, the Yucca will have these Cascade sours on tap:
- Crazy Navels: A sour strong blonde ale aged with figs and dates for 15 months in a chardonnay barrel, then infused with Cara Cara navel oranges.
- Kentucky Peach: A sour strong blonde and spiced quad aged in bourbon barrels with peaches.
- Manhattan NW: AÂ blend of sour quad and blond ales aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels with sour pie cherries and apricot noyaux.
- Bump ‘N Rind: A sour wheat ale aged 18 months in oak with more than 100 pounds of watermelon added in the last month.
In addition, 750-milliliter bottles of Cascade Strawberry and Manhattan NW will be available to enjoy on-site or take home.
The Yucca is pre-selling $20 flights of three 4-ounce pours. Individual 10-ounce pours also will be sold.
