The Grind, one of the forerunners of the burger-bar trend that hit the Valley earlier this decade, has closed in east Phoenix
The Arcadia strip-mall restaurant made the announcement on its Facebook page:
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce we have closed The Grind. We truly enjoyed servicing our Arcadia family and would like to thank all of our friends, fans and followers for all of your love, support and devoted patronage over the last several years!
The Grind opened in 2010 on the southwest corner of 40th Street and Camelback. Chef Matt McLinn’s coal-fired gourmet burgers received both local and national acclaim.
McLinn, however, left the restaurant in 2011. A second location opened in Scottsdale in 2012 but lasted just a little over a year.
