Fabrice and Mairead Buschtetz, owners of 15-month-old Cuisine & Wine Bistro in Gilbert, are opening a second location of their award-winning wine bar in the south Chandler space that formerly housed Cork and Earnest.
Located on the northeast corner of Alma School and Chandler Heights, the space debuted as the fine-dining Cork in 2008. The owners closed Cork in the summer of 2014 and rebranded the restaurant as the more-casual Earnest, which closed this March.
“We visited for the first time in April and loved the restaurant,” Mairead Buschtetz says. “The new location has a wonderful kitchen, with endless possibilities. It was love at first sight for Fabrice! There is a separate dining room there, too, for private events.”
The new location will have the same menu of Fabrice Buschtetz’s modern twist on traditional French cuisine. The couple’s son Steven will run the kitchen in Gilbert.
“Fabrice will still be making all the sauces, quiches and signature dishes for both restaurants,” says Mairead, a native of Ireland. “Fabrice has been training Steven for many years now and he will be using all his father’s recipes in Gilbert.
“Also, we are planning to be open for Sunday brunch. Not immediately, but within a month or so of opening we plan to add the extra day in Chandler.”
A grand opening is planned in August.
