Rockin’ Taco Street Fest returns Sept. 17, but will move to downtown Chandler

By Jess Harter Tuesday, July 26, 2016

The Rockin’ Taco Street Fest is on the move.

Launched by El Palacio Mexican Restaurant & Cantina in 2012, the annual celebration has outgrown the Chandler restaurant’s parking lot and will move to downtown Chandler this fall.

The fifth annual fest, which will take place Saturday, Sept. 17, will feature creative tacos including fish, shrimp, chicken, carnitas, carne asada, veggie and more from a dozen local restaurants, not just El Palacio.

To wash it all down, there will be fresh fruit frescas, Mexican cervesas, tequila tastings, margaritas, and more. Plus, save room for elote, churros, Mexican candies, and palettas.

Other event highlights will include live entertainment, Lucha Libre wrestling, a low-rider car show, taco-eating competitions, a salsa competition, chihuahua races, ballet folklorico dancing, niños play zone, and a piñata party.

General admission tickets are $8 in advance online and $10 the day-of. Children 12 and under will get in free free with a paid adult.
