Valley-based Sauce Pizza & Wine hopes to open its first Gilbert location on the northeast corner of Gilbert Road and the Loop 202 in late September.
‘‘This may get pushed into early October, but we are hoping to stay on schedule,’’ said Sauce’s Lauren Eggen.
Sauce is one of a dozen concepts developed by Phoenix restauranteur Sam Fox, whose others include Zinburger, Culinary Dropout, Arrogant Butcher, Olive & Ivy, and True Food Kitchen.
In January 2015, Fox sold the then-nine Arizona locations to a group headed by Ra Sushi co-founder Scott Kilpatrick.
Sauce still offers the same menu of thin-crust pizzas, paninis, pasta, and salads.
The Gilbert location will become Sauce’s 13th Arizona location.
