Last week, I wrote about the impending closure of BLT Steak at the Camelback Inn. Now the Paradise Valley resort has announced what will replace the celebrity-chef steakhouse.
Earlier: BLT Steak at Camelback Inn to close Sept. 9
After BLT Steak closes Sept. 9, Lincoln Restaurant and Bar 1936 will open in its space in October.
The restaurant is named after Lincoln Drive, the street on which the Camelback Inn is located. Bar 1936 pays homage to the year of the resort’s founding.
According to the high-end resort, Lincoln will offer a ‘‘refined menu (that) will spotlight simple fare with a Camelback spin to evoke the essence of the Sonoran Desert.’’
The kitchen will be headed by newly appointed executive chef Chris Neff, previously chef de cuisine at Meritage Steakhouse at Desert Ridge.
The restaurant will include an open-air outdoor kitchen and pizza oven on a Chef’s Patio.
