Saturday: El Palacio Rockin’ Taco Street Fest in downtown Chandler

By Jess Harter Thursday, September 15, 2016

El Palacio Mexican Restaurant & Cantina will hold its fifth annual Rockin’ Taco Street Fest from noon to 9 p.m. Saturday in downtown Chandler.

The new location (the event previously had been held in El Palacio’s parking lot) will allow it to accommodate more tacos, drinks, and activities.

More than a dozen local restaurants will be selling street-style tacos made with fish, shrimp, chicken, carnitas, carne asada, veggie, and more.

There’ll be aqua frescas, Mexican cervezas, margaritas, tequila tastings, and more to drink. And elote, churros, Mexican candies, and palettas for dessert.

Other highlights will include live entertainment, Lucha Libre wrestling, taco-eating competitions, a salsa competition, chihuahua races, ballet folklorico dancing, a kids play zone, and a piñata party.

Tickets are $8 online or $10 at the gate. Children 12 years old and under will be admitted free with a paid adult.
