What will they pair with craft beer next? How about beef jerky?

At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, SunUp Brewery in Phoenix and Lawless Jerky will offer a special menu of beer and ‘‘craft’’ jerky pairings:

  • Aloha Teriyaki, paired with Bearded Blonde Ale
  • BBQ Spare Rib Pork, paired with White Russian Imperial Coffee Stout
  • Japanese Curry, paired with Oktoberfest
  • Pho, paired with Hoppy Pumpkin Ale
  • Honey Chipotle, paired with Wrath of McGrath Scotch Ale
  • Sweet Sriracha, paired with Copper Dome Pilsner
  • Mango Habanero, paired with Wild Thing IPA

A flight of four pairings of your choice will be $8-$9.50, depending on the beers.

The evening will begin with a meet and greet with SunUp brewmaster Uwe Boer, expert taster Barry Tigleff, and Lawless owner Matt Tolnick.

Lawless is based out of Santa Monica, Calif., but makes its jerky in Phoenix from 100% grass-fed beef or nitrate-free pork.
