1. The sixth annual Wingstock chicken wing and live music festival moves from its traditional date in the spring and will take place 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday at Mesa Amphitheatre (map) in downtown Mesa.
2. Admission is $8 in advance (buy here) or $12 on Saturday. Kids 10 and under get free admission with a paid adult. Military members, veterans, and first responders get free admission with a photo ID.
3. Chicken wing coupons will be four for $3, 14 for $10, or $28 for $20. One coupon is good for one wing.
4. ATL Wings from Chandler will be seeking its fourth straight King of Wings crown and its third straight Hottest Wings title.
5. Other competing restaurants will include The Wing Counter, The Monastery Mesa, Uncle Bear’s Brewery, Queen’s Pizzeria, Booty’s Wings, Burgers & Beer, Echo 5 Sports Pub, Jolie’s Place, Triple 2’s Tavern, and Forghedaboudit Pizza.
6. There will be two wing-eating contests at 1:45 p.m.: One for armed forces members and another open to the public.
7. Live music will be performed on two stages by Mogollon, the Zubia Brothers, Elvis Before Noon, and Vintage Wednesday.
8. Children’s activities will include a Halloween egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. and a kids zone with bounce houses, face-painting, and more.
9. Free parking will be available in the Mesa Amphitheatre parking lot, as well as the parking garage on Centennial Way.
