Back in August, MXSW broke the news about La Sala Tequila Cantina, a new Mexican-themed concept from the owners of The Living Room, Rock Lobster, and Humble Pie.

Now I have an opening date: Friday, Nov. 18.

La Sala – which basically translates into ‘‘the living room’’ – will be located between The Living Room and Rock Lobster at Downtown Ocotillo, a commercial development on Queen Creek between Dobson and Price in south Chandler.

The 2,400-square-foot restaurant will seat 45 diners at tables and another 15 at the bar. It will share a recently expanded kitchen with The Living Room.

Chef Luis Milan‘s menu will feature mesquite-grilled flavors from Mexico and Latin America, including salads with locally sourced ingredients, table-side guacamole, Yucatan posole, and chipotle brisket.

New locations of The Living Room and La Sala will open at The Shops at Gainey Village in Scottsdale in early December.
