Cogburn’s, a locally owned sports bar and grill, will open its third East Valley location in the former House of Brews space on the southeast corner of Cooper and Warner in Gilbert.

The much-troubled HOB closed for good last month, the third time it had shut down (each under different owners) since opening in 2011.

Cogburn’s also debuted in 2011, taking over the former Payton’s Place sports bar on the southwest corner of Val Vista and Queen Creek in south Gilbert.

It opened a second location on the southeast corner of Power and Ray in southeast Mesa in 2014.

The House of Brews space will get a significant ‘‘freshening up,’’ both the interior and the north-facing sidewalk patio, over the next several weeks.

When it re-opens, Cogburn’s plans to introduce an expanded menu. Its two current locations offer starters, burgers, sandwiches, and three pasta dishes, but no other entrees.

There also will be an expanded tap list. The two current locations have 22 beers on tap, but House of Brews had 49. Cogburn’s plans to keep most, if not all.

Look for the new Gilbert location to open by the start of baseball spring training in February.
